If I am not Muslim, can I still come to the masjid?

Anyone can come to the masjid. We welcome those curious about Islam, interested in learning about our culture and practices, or those who want to know the masjid’s purpose. However, it is first and foremost a place of worship and also a representation of the local Muslim community.

Is the Uptown masjid just for local Muslim students?

Our masjid is open to all Muslims and non-Muslims. Many members of our community are not students, and they come from all over the U.S. and other countries.

Is there a separate area where women can pray?

Yes, our masjid offers a screened-off women-only area for those who prefer to pray privately away from men. There is a separate entrance to the right of the main entrance that takes them directly there. However, anyone can enter through the main door, and the main prayer space is open to all genders.
